A minimalist fueling station offering simple refectory-style dining from a menu that covers all bases of fast Japanese, albeit somewhat Anglicised, food. There’s not much finesse, and you’ll find better sushi elsewhere, but the lunchtime donburi dishes in a box are great value at £3.95. Bento boxes---a tray with a main course of, say, tempura, chicken teriyaki or tuna steak, plus rice, seaweed salad and fruit with a little bowl of miso soup---offer a well-balanced, healthy and filling meal for £7.95. Service does not have the grace usually associated with Japanese restaurants.
