Jax Cafe Restaurant Review:
Family-owned for several decades, Jax has seen restaurant trends come and go without even batting an eye. Though the Kozlak's Northeast Minneapolis palace may seem hip now, with its dark wood paneled walls and lusty steakhouse menu, it's the world that has caught up with Jax and not the other way around. There are so many rooms and moods it's hard to encapsulate Jax, which sometimes feels like a speakeasy, other times like a country club. The number of high school prom dates and anniversary dinners that have been served here cannot be counted. For sheer novelty you can't beat the trout stream in the back patio, where the intrepid diner can net their own dinner. But for sheer pleasure, we recommend anything from the grill, whether it's the 16-ounce rib-eye topped with cayenne pepper sauce or the grilled pork chop.
