Jens' Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Although Jens’ Restaurant is located in a mid-town strip mall, its ruby-red dining room is old-world-style elegant, with local art dressing the walls. But the real show is put on by the professional staff, some of whom have worked there for more than a decade. Each season, owner and chef Jens Hansen updates the menu to feature regional specialties from his most recent world travels. If requested, he may also customize a meal with delightful results. We recommend the pan-seared foie gras on wild mushrooms in puff pastry, the Prime rib-eye steak and the pan-fried Hawaiian mahi mahi accented with orange blossom-scented crème fraîche and chopped tarragon. Among desserts is the Danish specialty rodgrod med flode (red berry pudding served with cream) as well as a classic cheese and fruit plate, perhaps paired with after-dinner wine. The wine bar is more casual than the restaurant --- it’s decorated with wooden wine box tops, each imprinted with the logo of a different vineyard. Special events include a fun-filled Bastille Day (July 14) with a French-themed menu and live music.
