This is a small and unpretentious restaurant that feels like a neighborhood gathering place and is staffed with very friendly folk. At lunch, you can bask in the afterglow of the restaurant’s notoriously good chili, served solo or with assorted toppings, in a pie, or served over salad fixings. Other lunch dishes are just as casual, from soups to fries to sandwiches and to the house’s special Caesar-like salad. Or drop by in the evening for some of chef Howard Awad’s fancier fare, with an emphasis on seafood and dressed-up meats.
