THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Jitney's Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:

The bustling corner restaurant and bar on North Beach's nightlife row is now home to Jitney's Bar & Grill and the subterranean Beat Lounge. Polished wood, paper-topped tables and a mural composed of martini glasses, vintage jitney drivers' caps and the chrome-plated grille of a '55 Cadillac sets a handsome, devil-may-care tone. Primarily a party spot featuring nightly live music, big screen TVs and a boisterous singles scene, it is a pleasant surprise that most of the New American menu (even the dressed-up bar food) turns out to be pretty good. A crisp wedge of cool iceberg lettuce is topped with the creamy herb-loaded goodness of green goddess dressing. Sloppy Joe sliders span the gap by marrying duck confit with pulled chicken and tiny slider buns. Dressed up main courses like rotisserie lamb and stuffed chicken breast will satisfy a specific craving but ultimately feel too overdressed for the environment.
