Austria-born chef-owner Johannes Bacher works his magic in an unassuming storefront along Indian Canyon Drive, a bit off the beaten Palm Canyon Drive path. A selection of inventive dishes speaks to the chef's heritage, including cheese spätzle and signature wiener schnitzel with a lemon-cranberry jelly (get an apple strudel martini to put yourself in the mood). Escargots are simple and satisfying, too, even if it's a dish closely associated with the French. Grass-fed meats include New Zealand rack of lamb and a venison loin also from Down Under. Bacher’s subtle, creative fish preparations are exciting as well. Imported beers, saké and an extensive wine list with European and American labels round out the cosmopolitan experience. Expect an intimate ambience and impeccable service.
