Josephine, Restaurant Parisien has taken over the former Petit Robert Bistro space in Kenmore Square. The restaurant features casual-chic French fare in an upscale, intimate setting. Savor Gallic delicacies like nage de coquilles (mussels, clams, coconut and lemongrass broth), gambas poêlées (pan-seared shrimp, marinated leek fondue, truffle emulsion) and kale croquant (crunchy kale salad with raisins and honeyed Roquefort dressing). The charcuterie offering includes house-made pâtés and aged cheese selections, but we prefer the escargots swimming in a pool of garlic butter. Fresh halibut is served with a side of smashed potatoes topped with an elegant beurre blanc. The braised veal cheeks dish is made even better with red wine and beet jus. The chef's burger is not your average greasy patty. Instead, envision a juicy burger topped with caramelized onions, soft Brie and heirloom tomatoes. For dessert, there’s seasonal crème brûlée, chocolat mousse and lemon meringue tarte.
