Chef Joseph DeGennaro brings ambitious dishes and tried-and-true crowd-pleasers to the quiet New Jersey countryside at this pleasant hotel restaurant. From the menu's Italian section, the chicken agrodolce is very pleasing, made with golden raisins that contrast well against hot cherry peppers for the hot and sweet elements. The whole is brushed with a white balsamic glaze to good effect. Steaks are high quality and cooked to the degree diners’ desire. The wines offered for pairing are produced at Renault, one of New Jersey’s oldest wineries. Servers tend to be young and their inexperience shows.
