Jules Bistro Restaurant Review

: This quintessential neighborhood bistro in the East Village consistently delivers home-style French cooking. There’s no shortage of French bistros in the neighborhood, to be sure, but Jules distinguishes itself with live jazz performances and an always-busy vibe without a whiff of pretentiousness. Although one may find the waitstaff a bit curt, les escargots persillés à la Bourguignonne (Burgundy snails) are the genuine imported article. Just as tasty are the grilled lamb chops with tomato provençale and potato gratin. The bar is boisterous, and the wine list features many affordable gems.
