THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Kapaa Fish Chowder House Restaurant Review:

As might be expected, the décor follows a nautical theme, with wooden tables and captain’s chairs and a garden seating area. The menu, though large, is equally predictable and typical of a standard surf-and-turf eatery. A range of fresh fish comes out of the exhibition kitchen, including local favorites like ahi and ono. Good entrées are the filets that can be broiled or sautéed with a choice of simple sauces and the baby back ribs with a thick, spicy sauce. Just as you’d expect, a selection of steaks, prime rib, prawns, crab, lobster and combos are available as well. Two mud pies and a cheesecake round out the dessert selections. This place is average, but it does the job, with friendly waitstaff serving up ample portions of basic food. There’s a good children’s menu and early-bird specials. The wine list is big on California whites (especially Chardonnays), and there’s a big mai tai happy hour special.
