Kathmandu Kitchen & Grill Restaurant Review:

This simple establishment in Clarkston, located just east of Decatur, offers a menu and lunch buffet that are primarily devoted to Indian dishes, including some notable vegetarian fare. But the kitchen also shares a glimpse of the cooking of Nepal. We like the flavorful filled dumplings (momo) and the fresh-tasting coconut soup sprinkled with ground pistachios. Spicy plates focused on vegetables may be made with pork, chicken, lamb or goat, depending on the selection. Dal, the Indian lentil dish, is a more richly textured and seasoned incarnation than most Indian versions, which tend to be puréed. You will be asked which heat level you wish for your food; we recommend mild, which still has plenty of kick, until you gage your tolerance for heat. Desserts include sweetened carrot or rice pudding. Beers and a perfunctory "wine list," indicating no producers or vintages, provide quaffs.
