Keeva Indian Kitchen Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: The amber glow of Keeva’s narrow storefront draws diners in off the wind-whipped sidewalks of Clement Street to tuck into carefully crafted Indian fare from the kitchen of Ajeet and Rita Mehta, San Francisco natives who conjured this project out of their admittedly selfish desire for a more personal, authentic Indian dining experience for themselves and friends. Guests are warmly received into a jovial scene awash in ochre, terra cotta and plum, and directed to one of a dozen four-tops anchored by a long wooden bench stuffed with ornate pillows.

Likes: Family-owned restaurant with authentic Indian fare and friendly service.
Dislikes: Limited beer and wine options, so go with the mango lassi.

Food & Drinks: Well-executed traditional Indian dishes are accompanied by thoughtful variations inspired by family and street trends. Highlights include a tantalizing whole tandoori chicken seared ever so lightly at the tips, and the thrilling "Bang Bang Egg Curry" in tomato and onion, which smacks of gunpowder and spice. Slow-cooked biryani is a must-try, and purists will delight in a broad offering of tasty curries. The rich gulab jamun milk pastry soaked in cardamom syrup will sate any sweet tooth. A dozen wines and beers are offered, but we highly recommend opting instead for a thick mango lassi and tea.
