Kitchen Table Squared Restaurant Review

About the restaurant & décor: Le Cordon Bleu Paris graduate chef/owner Javier Chavez opened a second location of his popular Kitchen Table in The Gramercy mixed-use project in southwest Las Vegas, offering his blend of European cooking style with Latin American flavors. The 3,000-square-foot space offers a relaxed and rustic feel via large windows, decorative tile, three-toned repurposed wood, a polished cement floor and high industrial ceiling.

Likes: The dinner menu offers some items not found elsewhere, like an ostrich burger, buffalo burger, duck and rabbit paella, veal schnitzel and short rib taquitos.
Dislikes: The front entrance to the restaurant is a bit of a walk from the parking lot, but it looks out onto an inviting open air courtyard with shrubbery.

Food & Drinks: Chef Chavez’s international influences can be seen through several brunch menu items, such as crab avocado dip with roasted poblano and Oaxacan cheese; croque madame with challah bread, Gruyère, béchamel, ham and sunny side up egg; and Egyptian with poached eggs, avocado, greens, bacon and house-made dukkah seasoning. The variety continues in the dinner menu, with a chicharron tostada (chipotle chicken tinga), foie gras Belgium waffle, baked gnocchi, mushroom risotto, sesame seed-crusted ahi tuna and baked Chilean sea bass. Accompanying the varied fare are a handful of craft beers; several wines by the glass mainly from Italy, France, California and Washington; and unique cocktails, including the Jalapeno Cucumber Margarita with Centinela Clasico Blanco Tequila, Prairie Cucumber Vodka, Tattersall Orange Crema, lime juice, cucumber, agave and jalapeño. While there are traditional desserts such as carrot cake, the milkshakes qualify as a full meal-ender: the strawberry cheesecake version is served with a slice of the classic dessert perched at the top of the glass along with fresh strawberries.
