Burger fans will find their burger from heaven at this spot in Glover Park. The Pit Burger’s giant messy plate contains just about everything---from pulled pork, an Angus burger, melted onions, and a fried egg---except the kitchen sink and the refrigerator. Only a football player could eat the whole thing at a sitting, but for more delicate appetites, the Southern-leaning kitchen plies its trade with fried oysters, fried chicken tenders, barbecue pork ribs, mac ‘n’ cheese, and a must-have side bowl of cheddar cheese grits. Chances are good that unless you sip soda water, you’ll be too full to want dessert, which may simply be a fruit pie or ice cream. Odds are good if you are a twentysomething, you’ll head here for the bar scene upstairs.
