This old-fashioned general store in the upcountry town of Makawao is known among local residents as the place to go for pastries and pies. Cream puffs, long johns and macadamia-nut-shortbread cookies are an institution. Everything is good from the butter bread to the warm cinnamon rolls. Warning: Get there early; most of the fresh baked goods are gone by lunchtime.
