KR SteakBar Restaurant Review:

Kevin Rathbun's passion for steak gets an Italian twist at KR SteakBar, located in the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) West in Peachtree Hills. A carnivore's delight, the place also offers seafood and pasta dishes. We suggest beginning with the cured-meats plate or perhaps the selection of Italian cheeses. The lamb sausage we enjoyed on an early visit now appears with rapini and olives with orecchiette. All mains have their own accompaniments, so, for instance, the hanger steak comes with rapini and vin cotto. But there are additional sides, such as cauliflower with chili, raisins and Pecorino cheese, for more flavor experiences. Be sure to check out the desserts, which are likely to include house-made gelati and sorbet. Consider the $55 chef's selection menu, which the whole table must order. The wine list culls an assortment of Italian reds of distinguished pedigree, but other regions are represented, too, and the dessert wine line-up is thoughtfully selected. Our only complaint: the noise level once the restaurant fills. Strive for booth seating, where a lower ceiling tempers some of the sound.
