THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED L-Ray Restaurant Review: The cuisine of the Gulf Rim is what drives this brightly casual, yet stylish, West Village eatery. Up front is a steel-topped bar and in the back an unpretentious bi-level space with tile flooring. The menu draws equally from Cajun, Creole, Tex-Mex and Cuban favorites, and Tabasco bottles on each table set the culinary tone. Raw oysters are, of course, a favorite starter. Or consult the sheet of yellow paper that serves as a menu and try a platter of grilled sausages or any fried seafood offering. Fish entrées are served simply grilled with a choice of salsas from sweet to fiery. All the food goes great with the terrific margaritas or a shot of premium tequila from L-Rays lengthy list. |
