At this bistro du port, dishes made from the very freshest fish and shellfish (delivered direct from Atlantic ports) are chalked on a blackboard: depending on the day’s catch, they might include fried smelt, Scottish salmon steak, john dory seasoned with butter and chervil, mullet fillet with aïoli. If you are content to drink a modest Aligoté or Quincy, your bill will can stay reasonable. But beware if you succumb to the temptations of the finest Cognac collection in Paris (and maybe the world).
