THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED This bright little spot on Columbus Avenue is a welcome respite from the many cookie-cutter spaghetti houses along the North Beach strip. Specializing in charbroiled chicken and the cuisines of South and Central America, La Parrilla Grill offers a cornucopia of options, from deep fried whole tilapia to roasted sweet plantains. Especially good are the fat quesadillas stuffed with gooey cheese and your choice of chicken, steak, seasoned pork or freshly grilled shrimp, topped with guacamole, pico de gallo and salsa. The chicken is the real draw here, though---it's marinated overnight in all-natural juices and secret spices, then butterflied and flame-broiled to produce juicy, flavorful meat and smoky, perfectly-charred skin. Prices are excellent as well.
