THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Paz Restaurant Review:
A hilltop perch gives this location of La Paz a lovely perspective, overlooking historic Woodstock. Beach-like colors---orange, blue and green---suggest the traditional Mexican color palette. Start with a chile con queso, melted white cheese with onions, tomatoes, chilies and spices. A basket of various chips, including blue corn, accompanies a pair of salsas. The stand-out among them is the very picante salsa verde. Vegetarians will find a fair section of pleasing dishes, and beans and rice also are vegetarian. Soups are excellent, especially the sopa de tortillas. Fish and chicken dishes are top of the mark and we very much like the chimichanga filled with grilled chicken and topped with queso fundido, a bit adapted to American tastes but still worthy. Sangría is house-made, but too sweet and insipid. Also located at 2950 New Paces Ferry Rd. SE, Atlanta, 770-801-0020.
