La Playita Restaurant Review:
Located on Santa Monica's last stretch of Lincoln Boulevard before it becomes part of Venice, La Playita is a no-frills stand with windows for ordering and pick up. Mexican seafood cocktails (shrimp, octopus, abalone or mixed seafood) and ceviche cups are great values, starting at $6 for the small size. Also available are tacos, burritos, tortas and tostadas with a choice of meat (carne asada, carnitas, etc.). To drink, you'll find aguas frescas and sodas in cans or bottles. Credit cards are not accepted, so be sure to bring cash. Sister restaurant Mariscos Guillen is located at 12319 Prairie Ave., Hawthorne, 310-973-1810.
