THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Vista Restaurant Review:
Chef-owner Gregorio Gordon offers an ever-changing menu that highlights Italian dishes, heavy on pasta and pizza. But it also proposes some pleasant surprises à la comforting New American specials, such as a braised lamb shank or grilled pork chops braised with onions and mushrooms in a hearty brandy broth. Grilled tuna is deftly prepared, while pork tenderloin intrigues with its innovative crust of cinnamon, coffee and cumin. The restaurant has a bring-your-own-bottle policy with a $10 corkage fee and also has a limited menu of wine and beers. The tiny indoor space with an open kitchen is trendy-chic with checkerboard floors, muted wall colors and hip, minimalist photography. Desserts are noteworthy, but don't expect an espresso on the side.
