This cavernous specialty market/café is an old Miami fixture, a treasure-trove for anyone who’s interested in Italian food and culture. If you’re hunting for a place to stock up on picnic items or just want to grab some spinach lasagna, homemade pasta sauces or fresh mozzarella balls to go, think Laurenzo’s. From a wood-burning brick oven, a dedicated pizzaolo turns out both thin-crusted Neapolitan/NYC pizzas and softer, thicker-crusted Sicilian pies. A small sit-down café features cold Italian antipasto salads and classic hot Italian-American favorites, displayed cafeteria style, plus a menu of cooked-to-order dishes, all at affordable prices. Afterwards, enjoy an intense espresso and a pastry from the enormous bakery counter. The wine selection is sophisticated, and the center's free Saturday afternoon wine tastings are legend.
