Tucked into a small space on a busy street loaded with food emporiums, this cute little gourmet deli near El Pelon, Thornton’s and Sorento’s subscribes to the dictum of whatever the kitchen feels like making. Peer into the case and inspect what’s on the counter. Sweet coffeecake and large muffins are available for breakfast and lots of salads for lunch. Post lunch, you may find meatloaf and baked chicken, and other dishes which are usually sold by the pound and taken home. It’s best to call ahead to see what’s cooking as things change daily. There are a few tables for those who want to sit, but most choose take-out.
