Le Bambou Restaurant Review:
This small but handsome and relatively formal Vietnamese restaurant in a Del Mar shopping center offers a quiet mood and very good service. A well-written wine list, something rarely found in San Diego-area ethnic eateries, is taken as a plus by a well-heeled crowd that enjoys items such as seafood cooked in a clay pot, grilled-at-the-table beef with lemon grass, crisp imperial rolls, fragrant soups, spicy stir-fried shrimp, and elaborate rice and noodle dishes. More unusual items include the "golden coins" --- small meatloaf patties of barbecued shrimp and pork wrapped in rice paper with noodles, mint, sprouts and cucumber, or the salmon curry. It is wise to reserve on weekend nights.
