THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Bistrot de l'Etoile-Niel Restaurant Review:
Bruno Gensdarmes gets back in touch with the family-style cooking of his roots with country pâté, organic eggs in a light version of mayonnaise, escargot salad with tiny ratte potatoes, and creamy pumpkin soup. Daily specials include duck shepherd's pie on Monday, veal kidneys with macaroni gratin on Tuesday, skate wing with capers on Wednesday, roasted free-range chicken and potato purée on Thursday, and on Friday, sole meunière. Lamb shoulder with green flageolet beans is reserved for Saturday. In addition to the dish of the day, the menu features Argentinean steak, codfish brandade, and a widely recognized andouillette sausage. Don't miss the famous chocolate terrine for dessert. And like the cooking, the contemporary bistro décor has also been simplified.
