THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Le Grand Fromage Restaurant Review:
Michael Messina believes that business conditions are changing for the better in Atlantic City, and has reopened the second floor dining room at his restaurant, Le Grand Fromage, after it was closed for nearly a decade. The French bistro-style restaurant enjoyed popularity in the 1980s and then fell upon hard times at the beginning of the 1990s because of the poor business climate for restaurants in Atlantic City. Le Grand Fromage will offer outdoor seating and food service in keeping with the changes that are being made. Messina refurbished the entire facility, which now features four different dining rooms, each with a distinct theme. The first floor lounge, which remained open when the dining room closed, has a fresh look, too. The menu, which lists items in French, includes a number of Continental selections, in addition to traditional French dishes. Options include onion soup with melted cheese, quiche, duck cassoulet, chicken Cordon Bleu and filet of beef with béarnaise sauce. Several preliminary visits indicate that Messina is fashioning an upscale dining space with an emphasis on quality. We suggest a visit.
