Le Metro flaunts its prominence at the corner of the Elmwood Strip, letting the street view from large windows define the trendy atmosphere. The interior includes the works of local artists hanging on slate-colored walls. Outdoor seating is a good choice on nice days whether for drinks and appetizers or full meals. Le Metro bakes its own bread, making lunchtime sandwiches among the best in town. Try the tuna diablo or tuna Provençal for tuna fish sans mayonnaise. At dinnertime, bread with tapenade, pesto or muhammara, the Turkish walnut-garlic spread, make good appetizers. Entrées are elegant and nicely flavored. For a group or individual, try the gourmet pizzas, including the roasted vegetable or feta, goat, Asiago and ricotta cheese versions. Service is not always snappy.
