The dilemma: What does one do if a restaurant’s food is enticing, but the service is almost nonexistent? You can grin and bear it or find an alternative place to eat. At Le Viet, the cooking is almost worth the struggle one must endure to be served. While the menu is not extensive, it is nonetheless prepared with genuine expertise. Pho is skillfully presented and seasoned, as are the noodle bowls (try the lemon grass shrimp). The build-your-own spring roll platter is almost a meal in itself. Desserts are tasty but unimaginative: cheesecake, pecan pie and peanut butter pie. Lemon-lavender jasmine green tea is as soothing as it gets; other than that, you can get a mixed drink as there's a full bar, but no wine list.
