Les Affranchis Restaurant Review:

This trendy bistro has enjoyed a steady success since its opening. A young and dynamic staff welcome guests in a cozy dining room to the sound of easy listening music. The menu is subject to many changes according to seasonal products and the creativity of chef Enrico Bertazzo. Yet this Italian native who honed his chops at L’Ambroisie delivers house favorites like the “œuf parfait” alla carbonara (i.e. a soft-boiled egg) with preserved veal breast, Parmesan and onions and a 12-hours-braised veal cheek with potato purée. Displayed on a simple sheet of paper, the menu can also include daily courses like chestnut velouté with herring cream and rabbit porchetta with red cabbage, potatoes and mustard. Dessert is unfortunately under par, a commonplace cheesecake with Granny Smith apple and salted butter caramel coulis. A few wines available by the glass are suggested verbally by the congenial waiter.
