This restaurant located near the Saint-Lazare train station caters to wine lovers. The name of the place refers to Médoc, a region of France north of Bordeaux. In view of this, it may not come as a surprise that the wine cellar is filled with items from that area, including an intense Château Peyrabon 2006, and, among the dozen wines by the glass, a Pauillac Château Mouton Rothschild 2002 at €130. Thanks to Nicolas Tissier, who previously worked with Jean-François Piège, the fare matches these tantalizing selections. Flavors are subtly mixed and the cooking mastered. Expect to be delighted with seasonal dishes like crab meat with crusty hazelnut, pan-seared cucumber and mint; roasted lobster with bisque and citrus fruit; and a simple yet appealing dessert, chocolate tart with vanilla ice cream. Young and efficient service.
