Lil' Frankie's Restaurant Review:

Lil' Frankie's has become just as popular as its big brother Frank, the East Village cult eatery. Genial service and no-frills Italian food make it a good spot for an impromptu casual bite with friends. Pizzas from the brick oven are thin and crisp, spinach is fresh, pastas are cheesy. Wine is served in little drinking glasses like back in Napoli. Start with the sweetly refreshing pear and Gorgonzola dolce salad before digging into the pizza salsiccia covered with homemade sausage, vine ripe tomatoes, wild fennel and mozzarella. Be sure to try the sauce-free Bianca, a mix of truffle oil, sea salt, rosemary and olive oil. The focaccino dessert, filled with Nutella and sliced strawberries and drizzled with crème fraîche, transcends even the house tiramisu. Best of all, at Lil' Frankie's you can have it at 2 a.m.
