The survival rate of strip-mall ethnic restaurants is understandably low. Little Saigon, squeezed into the suburban clutter of Metairie, apparently stays alive by trading in nothing more daring than near-transparent Vietnamese-style spring and summer rolls, a collection of clear, delicately flavored soups and noodle dishes, and a few clay-pot concoctions that don’t push creative boundaries. Places like this one are handy to have around when the urge for something more exotic than a burger strikes. In that context, Little Saigon works.
