THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW A PRIVATE EVENT SPACE The Loft – Restaurant at BoMA Restaurant Review:

Once a massive, stone-built nineteenth-century church, the Bar of Modern Art (BoMA) is now home to a nightclub, art gallery and eatery: The Loft. The main dining area is semicircular in shape, overlooking a ground-floor stage. A large movie screen above the stage shows classic films with subtitles to keep the noise down. An eclectic menu features lots of interesting first courses, but it’s the sweet potato and Gala apple soup finished with Vermont maple syrup, smoky bacon and cinnamon mascarpone we come back for. Ostrich and organic pork are among featured meats, but we think the hanger steak with molasses-lime glaze, shallot-roasted fingerling potatoes, watercress, pink radish salad and pumpkins seeds and the seared, cocoa-and-espresso-crusted sea scallops with smoked onion-goat cheese polenta and achiote vinaigrette are tops. For dessert, order the goat cheese cake atop a shortbread crust with marinated fig-port cherry sauce.
