Longman & Eagle Restaurant Review: About the restaurant: Sure, this Logan Square restaurant-lounge attracts more than its fair share of hipsters --- if you have a plaid shirt, skinny black jeans and nerdy glasses, wear them. But this isn’t just a see-and-be-seen spot. A lot of thought went into the shabby-chic décor --- be sure to head to the back room to check out the sculpture installation --- the handcrafted cocktails, biodynamic wines, whiskey list and the menu. And that same attention to detail is what makes dishes so good.
Food & Drinks: The menu isn’t afraid to get playful: wild boar Sloppy Joes, anyone? Even the burger is a standout, thanks to beefy Slagel Family Farm meat alongside super-crisp beef fat fries. Desserts have included the "Elvis," peanut butter and banana ice cream dipped in a chocolate-bacon shell and covered in rhinestone sprinkles . At brunch, there's even an "Old Mill Breakfast" that includes a can of Old Mill with your order of eggs, bacon and potatoes. |
