THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Lorca Restaurant Review:

Lorca seems to embody the spirit of two restaurants. One is quaint and charming, pulling inspiration from its venerable Latino neighborhood. The other is sassy and precocious, luring locals into its large bar area for late nights of live music and platters of tapas. Perch yourself on a barstool, take in the sidewalk culture unfolding outside the picture window and enjoy some tapas. Stand-bys like manchego cheese, Spanish tortilla, Serrano ham and roasted pork are all a must. The dinner menu brings the complexity of the kitchen to the forefront. Shiny, bright-red piquillo peppers stuffed with Spanish rice, chicken and shrimp rest on a pale-yellow saffron sauce fragrant with earthy spice. A white bean Galicia-style soup laden with chorizo sausage and fresh greens glistens with flavor. Rib-eye steak revels under a vibrant Crismona sauce with scallions. The restaurant, awash in bull’s blood-red and dotted with paintings, still struggles for steady footing, but weekly poetry readings and live music should keep the place hopping.
