This family-run South City favorite showcases the nuances of Italian dishes --- from a simple light marinara on capellini to the complex flavors of tortellacci filled with braised veal and porcini mushrooms. Ever the quintessential restaurateur, chef-owner Rich LoRusso is always visible in the community and in the kitchen, busily turning out signature dishes like eggplant lasagna, ziti con vodka with Italian sausage, or tenderloin mudega topped with Fontina, garlic, prosciutto and lemon-wine sauce. Portions are large, so if you’re in the mood for cheesecake, gelato or pies, order accordingly. A wine list heavy on American vintners offers some good values and a few worth a splurge.
