VitaBowl, a source for delivery-only, plant-based meals VitaBowl, a source for delivery-only, plant-based meals, is a project co-founded by chef/restaurateur Dominique Crenn (Atelier Crenn), entrepreneur Charles Michael Yim and Miko Lorenzo (head of Food & Beverage at The Ritz-Carlton). The service has started in the Los Angeles area but plans to expand to San Francisco, Seattle, New York City, Austin and Chicago. On the menu you’ll find options like “Cali - Rejuvenate | Mood Booster,” featuring RightRice, quinoa, shaved Brussels sprouts, broccoli, kale, avocado crema and kombucha apple cider vinaigrette.

Tacocita is a fast-casual concept from Bicos Hospitality, which also operates fellow Pasadena spots Magnolia House and Gus’s Barbecue. Executive chef Michael Brown brings a from-scratch ethos, including making the mole with up to 30 different ingredients. On the menu you’ll find various tacos (BBQ Smoked Brisket, Baja Style Shrimp, Mushroom Chorizo & Potato, etc.), enchiladas, burritos, salads and more. Theía, the first restaurant from entrepreneur and real estate developer Max Simon, opened on August 15, 2020, in the Fairfax District. Drawing inspiration from Mykonos, the restaurant offers modern Mediterranean fare from chef Moises Placencia. Theía is open for takeout and to-go orders, available via Uber Eats, Postmates and Caviar; as well as socially distanced outdoor dining on the patio for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. NUEVA on the Westside is a contemporary Mexican cantina from restaurateurs Jared Meisler (The Roger Room, The Friend) and David and Patti Reiss of the Reiss Co (Yours Truly and others). Market Tavern at the Farmers Market is a project from two native Brits, chef Brendan Collins (Fia) and musician/restaurant vet Gary Twinn. Somni and The Bazaar by José Andrés at SLS Beverly Hills have closed permanently. The hotel's ownership has terminated the agreement with chef/restaurateur José Andrés's ThinkFoodGroup.
