MacAlpine's Soda Fountain Restaurant Review:

MacAlpine’s is a blast from the past. The shop dates back to 1928 and little has changed from the original old-time wooden soda bar, black-and-white tile floor, retro red chairs, and high-back wood booths. The stars are the ice cream drinks, of course, including malts, shakes, phosphate sodas, egg creams or soda in one of the many flavors from sarsaparilla to bubble gum to caramel popcorn. Food is just the basics, but it’s homemade and tasty: burgers, grilled cheese, a real Sloppy Joe or a Reuben, all served with a scoop of potato salad, Hawaiian coleslaw, carrot raisin salad, carrot and celery sticks or potato chips.
