Magpie Restaurant Review:

Having outgrown its space along the popular R Street corridor, Magpie relocated and also expanded into a full-service restaurant and bar. Its trendy, discerning clientele followed, taking advantage of the artfully crafted, seasonally inspired menu. Dishes take farm-to-fork to a whole new level, and include starters such as duck skin toast with pear purée, dragon mushrooms with truffle oil, and pan-seared polenta with sage and cheddar. Other dishes include gnocchi with duck confit, Niman Ranch pot roast with root vegetables and natural chicken two ways. Magpie is known for its desserts, which range from a chocolate avocado mousse to honey lavender crème brûlée. Come weekends to indulge in brunch or Thursdays for fried chicken for two.
