THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Mai Lee Restaurant Review:

Mai Lee introduced Vietnamese to St. Louis and remains at the forefront for its affordability and consistently good food. The ambience is almost an afterthought, but the young professional families and college students who frequent it are more than willing to overlook the décor. The original Vietnamese menu has been supplemented with a Chinese one, bringing the total number of items into the hundreds. To simplify things, groups can order five- or six-course prix-fixe dinners. Noodle dishes are popular, but we're partial to the ga xao xa ot, spicy chicken with lemon grass, not wildly hot, but redolent with flavor. Soups are notable and the banh cong (Vietnamese pancake) is a delight, its fluffy, crêpe-like egg encasing a variety of tasty treats. Even the banh mi sandwiches are swell. Finish the meal with Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk, one of the unsung treats of the cuisine.
