Mai Thai Restaurant Review:

It was enough that Mai Thai served quality Thai dishes in a contemporary setting, but now it has become known as one of Boise's best happy hour destinations. Both locations in the Valley (Boise and Eagle) offer a two-for-one special on all bar drinks (top shelf included) as well as an appetizer menu designed with appeal for the frugally inclined. The restaurant showcases a soothing water feature and large Buddha, while the contemporary seating and décor create an urban feel. We suggest the spicy Thai tacos and sweet lemon grass shrimp for appetizers. Entrées include the usual Thai fare with distinctive creations, such as cashew seafood served in a nest of golden potatoes; seafood pilaf in a creamy mushroom sauce; and a crab tower with morsels of fresh crab sautéed in a jalapeño-ginger sauce and plated on a bed of peanut cucumber salad. A full bar and sizable wine list means almost anything is possible for beverages. Bento boxes, sushi, sashimi and desserts round out the menu.
