: An outpost of the famed Parisian bakery with a retail store upfront, the Upper East Side’s Maison Kayser is a hungry Francophile's dream. The menu boasts tartines, salads, desserts and classics like rillettes, steak tartare, foie gras and French onion soup. An array of cocottes for breakfast as well as lunch and dinner provides heartier fare with salmon, boeuf bourguignon, eggs, and other choices. Each meal is served with a baguette, possibly one of the best to be had in New York City. Unlike most French bistros, Maison Kayser is BYOB. Instead, you’ll find fresh juices, coffees, teas, and even coconut water as the beverage selection. You can peer into the open bread kitchen to see the signature loaves being made. |
