Within shouting distance of both BU and Fenway Park, denizens of the former rather than fans of the latter keep this place buzzing. Bento box lunches are popular drawing a mixed crowd of Asian and other students, plus rock n’ rollers. The happy vibe continues into the night (late night at that) with karaoke offered in Japanese, Chinese, Korean and even English. Here’s a place to see whether more sake makes you a better singer. For dinner, we like the sushi better than the main menu, but do find that appetizers like grilled, soft-textured eggplant smeared with miso can be fun. Except for a few katsu dishes or decent tempura, stick with sushi. If you’re looking for a quiet meal, after 10 pm, the sound of karaoke bellowed by a very energetic bunch may not be your cup of green tea.
