Situated on a bend in the main road along the Gulf of Mexico, Mama Vasso’s is ideally located for tourists on the road and for beach-goers on the prowl for some food. In fact, this is more diner than restaurant in some ways. Breakfast, for example, is served all day, featuring the usual items plus a dozen omelette choices. Burgers, sandwiches (hot and cold) and salads fill out the menu, and all items can be ordered to go as well. Dinner entrées are more like a family restaurant, featuring an occasional homemade recipe and an array of basic fish, chicken and pasta choices. Desserts are standard except for a nice surprise: fresh baklava.
