Marinitas Restaurant Review:

Owned by chef and cookbook author Heidi Insalata Krahling of Insalata’s Restaurant (two blocks down) and her business partner Patrick Coll, Marinitas is a celebration of Latin flavors and Mexican design. To look at, it’s frankly sensual. Huge semicircular booths are among the most comfortable in the county. Décor by artist and designer Michael Brennan features brick and stone walls playing to deep umber paint, ceiling beams, loads of folk art and communal tables. A hopping bar scene and good list of tequilas make this a happening hangout. It’s also one of the few restaurants in Marin open until midnight every evening. Camarones con chipotle are irresistible, as are the fish tacos. We also recommend the duck confit tacos (served on Mondays), queso fundido, ceviche and carnitas. For dessert, go for the churros with dark chocolate sauce and dulce de leche pots de crème.
