Ten types of wings lead off a menu full of pub favorites with a twist. When it comes to the wings, there’s a version topped with crushed peanuts and another with a secret black marinade. Half-pound burgers are better than average, thanks in part to the house-made basting sauce. The vegetarian incarnation incorporates seasonal vegetables into a garbanzo bean base. For dessert, we suggest the chocolate chip cookie fried inside a wonton shell. With early and late happy hours, generous portions and plenty of sports on the screens, this place is clearly angling for the college crowd that floods The Loop from nearby Washington University. But families flock here too, because John Racanelli (known for his local pizza chain, among other restaurant ventures) knows how to keep prices down and quality up.
