Market Salamander Restaurant Review:
Middleburg is home to one of the area’s truly unique destinations: the food and wine shop, Market Salamander, the brainchild of Sheila Johnson that started with chef Todd Gray of DC’s Equinox overseeing its menu. Today's chef de cuisine, Megan Agregaard, sources everything locally. It’s easy to see why the hurried and harried might drop in for carry-out offerings, but the setting calls for patrons to sit down and enjoy a casual meal --- how about a Hunt Country burger? There’s plenty among the sandwich category, and if you have a sweet tooth, be sure to pick up one of the pastries. Of course, oenophiles should take the time to visit the market’s extensive wine selection upstairs.
