With its hearty, down-home American menu, Mary’s is a needed diversion from the trendy, upscale restaurants of midtown. Despite the dull ambience and high noise levels, the staff works hard to cook the brisket, ribs, pork and chicken to best effect while imparting the meat with the earthy, smoky flavors of pit cooking. The baked beans are rich and sweet and the greens should please any veggie lover.
