THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Mayhem & Stout Restaurant Review:
This artisanal sandwich shop started life as a pop-up service at food festivals around New York City. Mayhem & Stout quickly garnered a following, thanks to its sandwiches that feature tender braised meats (the pork shoulder is especially satisfying, as is the lamb shoulder) and creative condiments and relishes. It’s a little confusing when first ordering, as there is a lot to mix and match. Do you want the short rib and brisket with the blueberry sriracha sauce and roasted kale? Or perhaps the pulled chicken with blue cheese aïoli and onion confit? Or just go with the pork shoulder with mango chipotle and spicy slaw. Whatever you choose, it’s hard to walk out of this two-table spot without feeling gratified.
